UNIT 5- PASSIVE VOICE

Active and Passive forms

Active

We usually use active forms when we speak. They are all the forms we have seen so far (Unit Starter to 5)
Generalmente usamos la voz activa al hablar, son las formas verbales que hemos estudiado hasta la unidad 5.
Active (Simple Forms)
Simple Presentlive in Spain now
Simple Pastlived in India when I was a child
Will futurewill live in other countries in the future
Present perfectI have lived in many countries in my life.
Future Perfectwill have lived in ten countries before I retire
Conditionalwould live in more countries if I had time
Conditional Perfectwould have lived in Spain before, but I didn't know it

Passive

Pasive forms are often used when we want to give importance to the object of the sentence.
La voz pasiva se usa para dar importancia al objeto de la oración:
Example: We paint the walll every year -- The wall is painted every year.

Ejemplo:
The little boys are dressed every morning = Los niños pequeños son vestidos todas las mañanas o se viste a los niños pequeños todas las mañanas.
Passive (Simple Forms)
Simple PresentThe wall is painted every year.
Simple PastThis portrait was painted by a famous painter.
Will-futureThe living room will be painted soon.
Present PerfectThe room has been painted recently
Past PerfectThe house had been painted before we arrived.
Future PerfectThe house will have been painted by the end of the week.
